According to the AFMD, 8 out of 10 women are confronted with sexist attitudes at work (2023) and 77% of French people observe a difference in treatment between men and women in the workplace (HCE, 2024). These figures highlight an alarming reality that requires collective awareness and concrete action to eradicate inappropriate and discriminatory behaviour.
What is sexism and sexual harassment, and how do they manifest themselves at work? How can we recognise sexist behaviour or harassment, even when it is subtly hidden? As a witness or victim, what are the best practices for dealing with this type of behaviour?
The first part of this conference will aim to define what is meant by sexism and sexual harassment, by exploring the concepts and concrete manifestations of these behaviours. In the second part, we will study practical cases to learn how to identify situations of sexism and sexual harassment in everyday working life. Finally, the third part will offer tools and advice on how to react effectively as a witness or victim, in order to encourage a corporate culture where everyone feels safe and respected.
