Micro-aggressions are those remarks or behaviours that, although often unintentional, have a profound impact on the people targeted and on the work environment. But what are we really talking about when we talk about these micro-aggressions and, more importantly, how can we collectively act to prevent them?
Using practical examples and real-life situations, this session will help you put things into words, identify what employees may be experiencing, and provide them with practical tools and information to respond on the spot and in the cold.
Objectives:
Understand the links between stereotypes and microaggressions;
Identify the consequences for victims and the group as a whole;
Understand the legal framework;
Identify and try out appropriate responses (to the environment and to oneself) as a victim or as an ally;
Know the actors and the internal and external procedures depending on the situation.
