In our daily lives, we are all influenced by stereotypes that shape our prejudices and sometimes influence our decisions and behaviour in a positive or negative way. These prejudices, known as cognitive biases, are shortcuts that our brains use to process information quickly. But how can we identify and limit them to prevent discrimination and promote inclusion?
In this talk, neuroscience expert Erwan Deveze reveals the underlying mechanisms of these unconscious biases, with a particular focus on discrimination against women and people with disabilities. He also offers a wealth of advice on how to thwart these mechanisms wired into our brains.
His approach is resolutely pragmatic and tool-based, focusing on solutions that we can all implement to actively contribute to a more inclusive and equitable work environment.
