Why do we favor people who look like us, even when we think we are open-minded? How, despite being sensitive to these issues, can we still make discriminatory remarks? And why should we be wary of our first impressions?

In this conference, we will explore how our brain works by analyzing cognitive biases and stereotypes, shedding light on their origins and their impact on our perceptions, decisions, and interactions. While these biases are natural mechanisms and often useful, they subtly influence our thoughts and actions, sometimes leading to discriminatory behaviors and exclusion.

However, it is crucial to understand that discrimination is not limited to a few biased individuals. It is deeply embedded in the functioning of our organizations, especially in businesses, and stems from a larger system. Therefore, we must place these human behaviors within a systemic perspective to make inclusion a shared reality.

This session offers a true introspective experience in a psychologically safe environment, allowing you to identify your own biases, understand their construction, and their role in company culture. Through theories, concrete examples, and engaging exercises, you will learn how to challenge these biases and equip yourself with practical tools to foster a more inclusive culture.

Objectives:

  • Become aware of your own biases and stereotypes.

  • Understand their origins and construction.

  • Identify the links between biases, stereotypes, and excluding behaviors.

  • Place these behaviors within a systemic dynamic.

  • Acquire practical tools to challenge your daily reflexes.

You will leave with keys to act, both individually and collectively, towards a more inclusive work environment.
