Life experience Resilience Stereotypes Inclusive society Accessibility
Arthur Aumoite
Young visually impaired film-maker, Arthur is committed to defending and promoting causes that are close to his heart, such as the inclusion of disabled people, accessibility and assistance dogs.
Arthur Aumoite is visually impaired and a film-maker. A paradox? It's up to you! Each artist gives us their own unique view of the world they live in.
Previously, Arthur tended to hide his singularities, not accept them. Over the course of his experiences, he came to understand that his difference could be rich in meaning and lessons, and he developed a number of resources, such as mastering his voice assistant, visualisation and mental representation, memory work and managing his guide dog.
Today, disabled people are still too often on the margins of society.
According to Arthur, this position of outsider can also be a real opportunity: we can offer this same society a new outside perspective, in particular to find solutions to problems that so-called 'able-bodied' people struggle with. It's a new vision of disability, no longer one of deficiency but of capability.
During this conference, Arthur will share his experience, his vision of disability and what it could bring to society.
