Learning objectives

  • Understand the key definitions of diversity, equity, inclusion and non-discrimination.

  • Identify unconscious biases and stereotypes and analyse their impact in a professional context.

  • Adopt best management practices to promote an inclusive and equitable working environment where everyone feels valued and respected and can reach their full potential.

  • Acquire best practices on how to conduct recruitment processes in an inclusive and non-discriminatory way.

  • Know how to distinguish between the different forms of sexist and sexual violence in the workplace and how to act as a manager: prevent, identify, respond to and report such violence.


 
 


Module 1 - Diversity & Inclusion in the workplace: what is at stake?

  • The main challenges of Diversity and Inclusion in the workplace: key figures, latest legislation, concepts and definitions.

  • Focus on different forms of discrimination to deepen the understanding of the concepts and mechanisms (sexism, racism, handiphobia, LGBTphobia, ageism).

  • How do stereotypes play out in our daily lives at work (jokes, benevolent discrimination, etc.), and what are the right reflexes to adopt?

Module 2 - Developing inclusive management practices

  • Unconscious biases and stereotypes: mechanisms, impacts in the professional environment and strategies to counter them.

  • Developing inclusive management practices: best practices and concrete tools for implementing inclusive management (team diversity, communication, rewards and recognition, career development, access to training, work flexibility and accessibility, team life, work-life balance, excellence criteria, speaking time in meetings, maternity/parenting leave, etc.).

Module 3 - Recruiting without discrimination: overcoming unconscious bias from sourcing to closing

  • Reminder of the legal framework and criteria for discrimination in hiring.

  • Understand the impact of unconscious bias in the recruitment process and adopt best practices to limit bias in selection and decision-making.

Module 4 - Preventing sexist and sexual violence: the role of the manager

  • Identify and understand the different forms of sexist and sexual violence: Know the legal definitions of sexist and sexual violences (sexist acts, sexual harassment and sexual assault) and how to distinguish between them.

  • Your role as a manager: how to prevent, recognize and act? How to react on the spot (role-play scenarios: reacting to sexist behavior or witnessing violence, reporting incidents that come to my attention, what to do if the victim doesn't want to report, etc.).
