Searching for meaning: a personal quest or a new relationship to work?
Searching for meaning: a personal quest or a new relationship to work?
Laëtitia Vitaud
Author and lecturer on the future of work.
First, she explains at the historical reasons for these economic upheavals and analyzes the need of today's workers to free themselves from the constraints of their working conditions. But how to solve the equation of the search for meaning, the desire for autonomy and a fair wage?
Then, she highlights the need to rebalance the relationship between work and others, by integrating a collective dimension into the individual quest for meaning. This means negotiating collectively to improve working conditions, rediscovering collective time and rituals that have been lost, and also pooling resources on issues such as retirement, health, etc. Because after all, human beings need to feel part of something bigger. Together, we're stronger, quite simply!
