Emotions : we have never been really taught what it is, nor what it is for. So we distrust them, we repress them, we stifle them. Hide this emotion that I won’t see! Obviously, it is rarely conclusive... Denied, our emotions bubble up inside us, explode at completely unexpected moments or consume us slowly. As the famous author Thomas d'Ansembourg says, "the emotions we don't take care of take care of us".
Mindfulness is a valuable practice for (re)discovering and balancing our emotions. By training ourselves to be fully present to each experience we are going through, we gradually develop an inner stability that allows us to better live with our emotional life. Neither repressing nor being overwhelmed.
