Polar expeditions : understanding climate change impacts
Ann Daniels
Ann is a Guinness world record-holding polar explorer and an accomplished guide.
She has since taken part in many expeditions, breaking records, leading men and women in the most hostile environment on earth and working with scientists around the globe to better understand these icy regions.
Over the past 20 years Ann has witnessed first hand the disappearing ice in an environment she feels passionate about. Less than 0.5% of the world population lives in the Arctic, yet this area suffers the most from climate change. It is not just the rapid melt that is cause for concern but the amplifications of climate feedbacks that might warn us of bigger disasters ahead. In this talk Ann shares her experience as a witness of the climate change impacts.
