Marie Docher
Marie Docher is a photographer, author, and filmmaker. Known for her commitment to better representation of women and minorities in photography, she has been honored with the title of Chevaleresse of Arts and Letters.
How are women, LGBT individuals, and minorities represented in the media? How can we become aware of discriminatory stereotypes? Who creates and selects these images? And when we stand in front of a camera, in our professional or personal environments, how do we present ourselves?
The aim of this conference is to challenge perceptions and provide insights into rethinking representations and how they are created. It is based on the work of several members of LaPartDesFemmes, a collective committed to promoting diversity in photography: Marie Docher, photographer, Ingrid Milhaud, iconographer and photo editor, and Chloé Devis, photographer and journalist.
To develop and contextualize their reflections, the speakers rely on statistics, analysis of photographic and textual content, and interviews with photographers and their subjects.
